CLINTON, S.C. — Presbyterian College volleyball leaves Clinton for two Big South road matches this weekend, opening Friday night at High Point and wrapping up Saturday afternoon at Radford.
The Blue Hose, 8-15 overall and 2-7 in league play, meet the Panthers at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in High Point, North Carolina. PC then takes on Radford at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
High Point is 14-6 and already owns a win over PC this fall, taking a 3-1 decision in Clinton on Oct. 17. The Panthers split a pair of home matches last weekend, losing 3-1 to UNC Asheville before turning back USC Upstate by the same score.
PC is coming off back-to-back home losses to Winthrop and Gardner-Webb. In the Gardner-Webb match, Anisa Dorlouis handed out a career-high 45 assists, Celimar Hoyos collected a career-best 34 digs, Brittney Daphnis equaled her career high with seven blocks and Courtney Williams put down a season-high 15 kills.
Blocking has carried the Blue Hose much of the year. Only one Big South team has been better at the net: PC’s 191.5 total blocks and 2.23 per set both rank second in the league. Meredith Reisman, a senior who transferred from Campbell, is second in the conference with 93 blocks and leads it with 17 solo stops. Against USC Upstate on Oct. 10 she had 10 blocks, matching the program record for a single match in its Division I era.
Hoyos is second in the league with 369 digs, an average of 4.34 per set, and Dorlouis ranks third in assists per set at 7.48. Dorlouis has posted three triple-doubles this season and went past 1,000 career assists on Sept. 8.
Maddie Moss is in her second season leading the program.
