Greens: Bentgrass
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed Musgrove Mill in 1988 on the Enoree River, on the site of the 1780 Revolutionary War Battle of Musgrove Mill. Ranked #23 in South Carolina by Golf Digest and a former host of the 2002 U.S. Mid-Amateur. Now part of the McConnell Golf portfolio. Slope 153 is among the highest in South Carolina from the back tees.

Historic private club in nearby Laurens (12 miles from Clinton), opened 1929. Traditional Southern country club — walking-friendly, tree-lined, small greens. Membership-driven with limited guest play. One of the oldest continuously operating private clubs in the Upstate.

Nine-hole public course opened 1933 in Whitmire, 20 minutes east of Clinton. Community-run, no-frills layout. One of the most affordable rounds in the Upstate — a place to practice, walk, and play without a tee-time system.
9 holes. Cash-only in some seasons. No formal tee times.

Small on-campus practice course at Presbyterian College. Not a traditional 18-hole layout — used primarily by the Blue Hose golf team and community. Free access. Useful for short-game practice and junior instruction.

Clinton is one of the most storied small golf towns in America — home to Palmetto Golf Club (founded 1892, the oldest course in South Carolina, redesigned by Alister MacKenzie in 1932, three years before he completed Augusta National) and Clinton Golf Club (1912, one of the oldest public courses in the state). Coverage spans the private layouts (Palmetto), the semi-private clubs (Houndslake Country Club, Midland Valley Country Club, Cedar Creek Golf Club, The River Golf Club in nearby North Augusta), and the historic public access at Clinton Golf Club.
