CLINTON, S.C. — Garbage pickup in Clinton will run on a shifted schedule this week because of the Veterans Day holiday on Wednesday, Nov. 11, according to the Sanitation Division of the city’s Public Works Department.
Customers on the Monday and Tuesday routes will see no change, with crews running their usual pickups on Nov. 9 and Nov. 10.
No garbage will be collected on Wednesday, Nov. 11. The Wednesday route moves to Thursday, Nov. 12, and crews will work both the Thursday and Friday routes on Friday, Nov. 13.
City of Clinton administrative offices will also be closed all day Wednesday for the holiday.
Public Works asks customers to roll their carts to the curb by midnight the night before their pickup day. Household trash has to be inside a city-approved cart, and garbage left outside the can will not be taken.
For yard waste, residents should pile grass and leaves loose at the curb rather than bagging them, and keep them apart from limbs, brush and man-made items so the collection machine is not damaged.
Questions about the holiday schedule can go to the Department of Public Works at 864-833-7520. The city also hauls construction debris for a fee; Streets and Sanitation Division Manager Jesse Ricketts handles those requests at 864-200-4554.
