CLINTON, S.C. — Presbyterian College men’s soccer is still chasing its first win of the season, and the opponent coming to Martin Stadium in Clinton on Saturday, Oct. 17, is one of the hottest teams in the Big South. Kickoff against High Point is set for 6 p.m., with the match streamed on ESPN+.
The Blue Hose sit at 0-11-1 overall and 0-3-1 in league play. The Panthers arrive at 9-3-1 and unbeaten in four conference matches, riding a seven-game winning streak that includes a 2-1 win at USC Upstate on Oct. 9 and a 2-0 home shutout of George Washington on Oct. 13. High Point is 4-3 away from home this fall.
Senior forward Daniel Lugo carries the visitors’ attack with 10 goals.
Presbyterian’s best recent moment came in a 2-2 draw at Radford on Oct. 9, when AJ Acree scored twice after halftime, the first multi-goal game by a Blue Hose player since November 2024. Acree, Aiden Burke and Bryce Burdette share the team lead in goals, and goalkeeper Saed Anabtawi has made 54 saves.
The series has favored High Point, which leads 14-4-5 and has taken the last three meetings. The last Presbyterian win came in double overtime, 2-1, at home on Sept. 24, 2016. After Saturday, the Panthers return home to face UNC Greensboro on Oct. 20.
