CLINTON, S.C. — The Laurens County Chamber of Commerce has started selling tickets for its 18th annual Oyster Roast and Football Fan Challenge, which takes over the chamber grounds at 291 Professional Park Road in Clinton on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Gates open at 5 p.m., with food served starting at 5:30. Tickets cost $60 each and cover admission, food, drinks and entertainment.
Steamed oysters headline the menu, alongside Lowcountry boil, chicken gumbo and ice cream for dessert. The evening also brings music, raffle prizes and visits from college mascots.
The football side of the night centers on a live auction built around Clemson, South Carolina and Presbyterian College. Guests are asked to show up in their team’s colors.
The roast is one of the chamber’s biggest yearly gatherings. Last year it drew about 800 people and sold out, and chamber officials say tickets go on a first-come, first-served basis, so they are urging people to buy early. Chamber president and CEO Dabs Davis described it as an event the community looks forward to all year.
Tickets can be bought in person at the chamber office in Clinton, online through the chamber’s website, or over the phone at 864-833-2716.
