CLINTON, S.C. — AJ Acree, a sophomore on the Presbyterian College men’s soccer team in Clinton, has picked up two weekly awards after scoring both Blue Hose goals in a comeback draw at Radford, including the school honor named this week as the Adidas / Game One Student-Athlete of the Week.

The Big South Conference office announced Monday afternoon that the midfielder from Wilmington, North Carolina, was its Offensive Player of the Week. He is the fifth Blue Hose player in program history to win that league award and the second Presbyterian men’s soccer player to collect a Big South weekly honor this season, after Aiden Burke was named freshman of the week on Sept. 21.

Acree turned the Oct. 9 match in Radford, Virginia, with a second-half brace. Presbyterian trailed 2-0 at halftime before he scored twice to earn a 2-2 draw. They were the first two goals of his Presbyterian career, and it was the first time since Nov. 2, 2024, that a Presbyterian player scored twice in one game. He also took four shots as the Blue Hose put up a season-high 14.

Radford built its lead early, as freshman Brice Hall scored his first college goal to put the Highlanders ahead 1-0 and Noel Zimbeva added his fifth goal of the season. Only four of the Presbyterian shots were on target, but two of them found the net.

Acree follows football player Nick McGill, who received the school award on Oct. 6. Presbyterian has partnered with Game One since November 2022 under a multi-year apparel agreement that extended the athletic department alliance with Adidas, which dates to 2015.

The Blue Hose are scheduled to host High Point, which carries the longest winning streak in the nation at seven games, in Clinton on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m.
