Greenwood, S.C. — The City of Greenwood is among 22 South Carolina organizations awarded a Duke Energy Foundation Main Street revitalization grant, part of a $190,000 statewide package announced Monday.
Individual awards run up to $10,000. The foundation says the money can go toward facade improvements, wayfinding signage, public gathering spaces, and small-business incentive programs or microgrants meant to strengthen downtown districts and neighborhood commercial corridors.
Greenwood is listed alongside cities such as Clemson, Newberry, and Sumter, plus nearby Town of Ware Shoals and other Upstate and statewide recipients.
Duke Energy Foundation framed the grants as support for community-led projects that help Main Street districts stay places where residents shop, gather, and invest. Recipients were announced Monday, October 12, 2026.
