Clinton High School senior Angelo Cromer was recognized as the Laurens County Touchdown Club Player of the Week for August 28. Cromer, a running back and defensive back for the Red Devils, played a key role in the team’s 29-22 victory against Laurens District High School at Wilder Stadium in Clinton.
During the game, Cromer was the leading rusher with 157 yards on 17 carries. He also contributed on defense with three tackles. Head Coach Corey Fountain commended Cromer for his performance, noting his aggressive play in running, blocking, and participating in special teams.
The Laurens County Touchdown Club will honor Cromer on September 3 at its second meeting of the year. The event will take place at noon at The Ridge in Laurens, with food service beginning at 11:45 am, provided by Dempsey’s Pizza of Clinton. Farm Bureau Insurance of Laurens County will present the Player of the Week awards for 2026. The featured speaker at the meeting will be Matt Rahl, the new Head Football Coach for Presbyterian College.
The Laurens County Touchdown Club holds meetings every other Thursday throughout the football season at The Ridge, located at 301 Exchange Road in Laurens. The public is invited to attend, and tickets can be purchased at the door for $15.
