South Carolina – The University of South Carolina (USC) has achieved a significant milestone, being ranked No. 1 in the United States for its International MBA (IMBA) program for the 11th consecutive year, according to the recently published U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate School rankings on April 8, 2025. This continued success underscores USC’s commitment to delivering high-quality education that prepares students for global leadership roles.

The IMBA program, offered through the Darla Moore School of Business, has consistently maintained a top-three ranking in international business education for an impressive 36 years. Students enrolled in this program gain invaluable international experience through in-country immersion opportunities and global coursework, equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in diverse, multinational environments.

The curriculum emphasizes technical skills in various business functions and offers training in business analytics. Additionally, students develop vital soft skills through international experiences that enhance their effectiveness as future leaders within multinational corporations. The program’s design allows students to learn from faculty members with extensive industry backgrounds and collaborate with peers from a wide array of disciplines, including healthcare, engineering, and marketing.

Improvements Across Graduate Programs

In addition to the IMBA program, USC has recognized improvements in several other graduate programs. The Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing has seen its ranking rise by 12 positions to No. 81 overall and No. 49 among public universities. Notably, the civil engineering program climbed 14 spots to No. 73, while the nuclear engineering program continues to impress, moving up to No. 21 nationally.

The College of Education made strides as well, improving two positions to rank No. 27, which translates to a remarkable 60-spot improvement over the last three years. The Joseph F. Rice School of Law also experienced a boost, climbing three spots to No. 63 nationally and No. 33 among public law schools. Notably, its trial advocacy program was recognized as No. 12 in the country.

The College of Nursing’s professional programs provided additional positive news, with its doctor of nursing practice program improving to No. 36 and its master’s program reaching No. 23 nationally. Furthermore, for the fifth consecutive year, the College of Nursing received accolades for having the top online master’s program in its field.

Graduate Program Rankings Highlight Quality Education

The Darla Moore School of Business also boasts other impressive rankings. Its operations and supply chain graduate program ranks No. 18, while the part-time MBA program is recognized as No. 23. These rankings collectively emphasize USC’s robust offerings across various disciplines, positioning the university as a leader in graduate education within South Carolina.

USC’s dedication to enhancing educational outcomes and its impact on regional success has been further verified by the continuous rise in rankings across its graduate programs. The university’s executive vice president for academic affairs noted that these improvements reflect USC’s commitment to academic excellence, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for the challenges they will face in their professional lives.

Commitment to Educational Excellence

In summary, the University of South Carolina’s sustained excellence in its International MBA program, combined with notable improvements in other graduate programs, reinforces its standing as a premier educational institution in the nation. The university’s focus on advancing graduate education is aimed at enhancing student outcomes and fostering growth within the South Carolina community.
