Quarterfinals Results from Class 5A State Tournament
In the quarterfinals, Alexandria edged out Armstrong with a close score of 17-14. Elk River had a strong showing against Monticello, finishing at 36-29. Chanhassen proved dominant over St. Thomas Academy, winning confidently 38-21. Owatonna and Cretin-Derham Hall had a nail-biter that went into overtime, with Owatonna narrowly winning 22-21.
Class 3A State Tournament Highlights
In Class 3A, Dassel-Cokato overcame Fairmont by just one point, finishing at 29-28. Pequot Lakes secured a victory against Annandale, ending with a score of 22-15. Stewartville displayed strength, defeating Holy Family 40-14.
Volleyball Championships Thrill Fans
In volleyball, Lakeville South battled Champlin Park for the Class 4A state championship, winning 25-16, 25-17, 14-25, 20-25, 15-10. East Ridge secured third place by defeating Roseville 25-23, 25-21, 25-20. The Class 3A championship saw Alexandria beating Marshall 25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22.
Swimming State Meet Qualifiers Shine
As swimming season heats up, Eastview led Section 2A with exceptional performances. The 200 medley relay teams showcased speed, with Hastings clocking in at 1:52.10. Notable individual performances included Marcott from Apple Valley in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.32.
