Penn Yan Academy Faces Tough Loss in High School Basketball Matchup Against Waterloo

Waterloo Triumphs Over Penn Yan Academy in Boys Basketball

Penn Yan – In a competitive boys basketball matchup on Wednesday night, the Waterloo Indians took down the Penn Yan Academy Mustangs with a final score of 60-47. The game held at Penn Yan showcased strong performances from several players, contributing to Waterloo’s undefeated record of 3-0 this season.

Waterloo’s offense was well-rounded, with multiple players stepping up to deliver. Brandon Lee and Hayden Willett each netted 12 points, while Cameron Jacobs, Dylan Caraballo, and Carter Peterson all added 10 points to the scoreboard. Their teamwork was evident as they effectively executed fast breaks and capitalized on Penn Yan’s fouls.

On the other side, Penn Yan Academy‘s Anthony Condella put forth an impressive effort, scoring 22 points and trying to keep his team in the game. Matthew Tones also contributed with 11 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the strong performance from Waterloo.

The weather outside added a chilly note to the evening, with increased winds and occasional snow showers expected. Temperatures hovered around the low to mid-30s, while winds gusted up to 40 mph, making it clear winter is settling in.

Both teams are looking ahead to their next games. Waterloo will host Greece Odyssey on December 9th at 7 p.m., while Penn Yan aims to regroup and host Haverling on December 6th at 7 p.m.

As the basketball season continues, players and fans alike are eager to see how the teams adapt and grow during these colder months.
