Mountlake Terrace Hawks Secure Playoff Spot with Dominant Win Over Everett
Mountlake Terrace, WA – The Mountlake Terrace Hawks showcased their strength on Sunday, October 20, 2024, as they rolled to a commanding 34-0 victory against the Everett Seagulls. The Hawks’ offense was impressive, racking up a total of 514 yards, with a staggering 398 yards coming from their rushing game.
With this win, the Hawks clinched the No. 2 seed in the Wesco 3A South Division and secured a spot in the upcoming state playoffs, which are set to kick off on November 8 or 9. Mountlake Terrace is scheduled to face Edmonds-Woodway in their final regular season match on Friday, October 25, before they take on the No. 2 seed from the Wesco 3A North Division in the crossover matchups.
Leading the Hawks’ offense, quarterback Mason Wilson completed 6 out of 8 passes for 118 yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Owen Boswell stood out with 142 rushing yards off 15 carries, adding to the team’s total with a touchdown. Nate Brown also contributed significantly with two rushing touchdowns and 40 yards on six carries.
Defensively, the Hawks performed well, with Liam Moore recording nine tackles and Cody Ekanayake making an interception along with a fumble recovery. The overall defensive effort limited the Seagulls to minimal movement throughout the game.
In other local matchups, the Meadowdale Mavericks defeated the Lynnwood Royals with a score of 48-0, while the Shorewood Stormrays took down Edmonds-Woodway 31-13. The Mavericks were led by Brian Mills, who rushed for 190 yards and three touchdowns.
