Clinton, South Carolina – Ongoing searches continue for two missing individuals, Jakerri Smith and Robert “Bubba” Norris, as authorities and community members remain vigilant in their efforts to locate them. Smith, a 17-year-old, was reported missing on May 25, 2025. The Clinton Police Department is actively investigating her case, and anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is urged to contact them at 1-864-833-2511.

In a separate case, Robert Norris, aged 34, has been missing since March 1, 2025. He was last seen heading to Clinton with friends to watch a boxing match. His family reported him missing on March 4, 2025, after he failed to make contact, an unusual occurrence for him. His last-known activities included visiting his daughter’s home in White Plains and a friend’s house in Camp Springs, Maryland. Norris’s white Ford F-150 pickup was discovered parked on Colebrooke Drive in Hillcrest Heights. Surveillance footage captured someone entering his truck, while his phone last pinged near Allentown Road and Old Branch Avenue on March 4, prompting a series of extensive searches in that location.

Concerns for Norris’s well-being have intensified as his family stated he had plans for the future and a supportive network. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, striving to gather information and leads on his case as community members remain hopeful for his safe return.

Meanwhile, the case of Clinton Bonnell, a former Green Beret from North Carolina, has taken a tragic turn. Bonnell went missing on January 27, 2025, shortly after retiring from military service. Enrolled in a Physician Assistant program at Methodist University, his sudden absence raised alarms among colleagues and family members. Reports indicated that he was in good spirits before his disappearance. Following his absence from classes and inability to be contacted, he was reported missing on January 28, 2025.

Bonnell’s last known activities included visits to the Fit4Life gym and participation in a study group at the university. His vehicle was found parked at his home with keys left inside, prompting further concerns about his safety. Tragically, authorities discovered human remains in a body of water on February 25, 2025, which were later confirmed to be Bonnell’s.

In connection with his death, Bonnell’s wife, Shana Cloud, was arrested and charged with his murder on March 28, 2025. Following her arrest, Cloud was denied bond as forensic and investigative work continues to uncover the circumstances surrounding Bonnell’s death. This case has drawn significant media attention, illuminating the challenges faced by families during such difficult times and highlighting the emotional toll of these incidents.

As the community in Clinton remains hopeful for the safe return of Jakerri Smith and for justice and closure regarding Robert “Bubba” Norris and Clinton Bonnell, law enforcement agencies are utilizing multiple resources, including cadaver dogs, to aid in searches and preserve evidence. Community support and active engagement remain crucial as these investigations unfold.

All updates regarding these cases will be closely monitored, and anyone with information is encouraged to come forward to assist in bringing clarity and safety to the affected families.
