Menasha Bluejays Dominate Manitowoc Ships in Shutout Victory

MENASHA – The Menasha Bluejays achieved a convincing win over the Manitowoc Ships, scoring 42 points while holding their opponents scoreless, improving their conference record to 4-1 in the Fox River Classic Conference-South, and securing playoff eligibility.

The Bluejays took command early in the game. In the first quarter, Jaydon Lanser caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Logan Liegl, followed by a short 1-yard rushing touchdown by Elijah Gigl. Menasha led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

As the game progressed into the second quarter, Lanser continued to shine, scoring another touchdown with a 10-yard reception from Liegl. The Bluejays expanded their lead to 20-0 at halftime.

The third quarter saw more impressive performance from Gigl, who displayed his standout rushing skills, scoring twice more with runs of 12 yards and 5 yards. The Bluejays capped off their scoring with a 6-yard run by Beau Thompson in the fourth quarter, solidifying the final score at 42-0.

Gigl was particularly notable in this game, running for 148 yards on just 20 carries and scoring three touchdowns. Lanser also had a fantastic outing, contributing significantly with his two touchdowns.

With this victory, Menasha improved their overall record to 4-3. The Bluejays are set to face Sheboygan South at home on Friday, looking to keep their winning momentum going.
