Lori was born on October 6, 1943, in Cleveland, OH, as the daughter of Donald Anthony and Anna Mae (Finnerty) Miller, Sr. Throughout her childhood, her family moved several times, settling in Gates Mills, Ohio, after residing in Chicago, Illinois, and Newtown, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Regina High School in South Euclid, OH, and continued her education by attending St. Rita’s School of Nursing in Lima, OH, where she graduated as a registered nurse.
In her professional life, Lori made a significant impact as an Emergency Room Nurse at Lakewest Hospital in Willoughby, OH. It was there that she met and later married Dr. Stephan M. Ticich on May 21, 1966. They shared a loving marriage until Dr. Ticich’s passing on May 14, 2024. The couple resided in Mentor and Lorain during their marriage before retiring in Marblehead, OH, as well as spending time in Seabrook Island, SC.
Lori’s commitment to her community was evident as she was an active member of several organizations, including the Lorain Colony Club and the Rotary Club of Lorain. Moreover, her involvement with W.A.M.A.D.A.S in Lorain and as a dedicated PTA member, particularly with her children’s marching band, showcased her dedication to supporting youth and education. Lori was also a cherished member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead and engaged in numerous church activities. Her volunteer work extended to Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton, where she contributed her time and skills.
Known for her caring and compassionate nature, Lori was devoted not only to her family but also to her patients and in-laws, often treating friends as if they were family. Her reputation as an excellent hostess and her love for entertaining were well recognized by all who knew her. Beyond her community involvement, Lori was a passionate fan of the Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Lori Ticich is survived by her four daughters: Stephanie (Matthew) St. Marie of Elyria, OH; Karen Serrano of Lorain, OH; Heather (Brian) Sherman of Raleigh, NC; and Kathryn Ticich of Marblehead, OH. She was also a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, which include Devon Serrano, Alexzander Sherman, Zachary Sherman, Jon (Pam) Buss, Jennifer Gammiere, Ryne St. Marie, and Riley St. Marie. Additionally, she cherished her great-grandchildren: Gabriella, A.J., Andi, Blair, and Eleanor. Lori is also survived by her siblings: Alyson (Jerry) Strait of Avon Lake, OH; Donald (Louise) Miller, Jr. of Stow, OH; Marilyn (Donald) Lee of Mayfield Heights, OH; and Carol (Keith) Perry of Beaufort, SC.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. Stephan M. Ticich. Her life will be celebrated with visitation scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Neidecker, Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Peninsula Chapel, Lakeside-Marblehead, OH. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marblehead, OH, with interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
