Back to School: New Buses and New Drivers for One Upstate School District
Laurens County, S.C. Gears Up for the New School Year
In a refreshing update for parents and students alike, Laurens County School District 55 is more than ready to kick off the new school year. The district has added new buses and new drivers to improve transportation services. According to the district officials, this year, they have a driver for every bus route, which promises to make a significant difference.
More Routes, Less Stress
The addition of new bus drivers means **more routes** can be covered efficiently. As Director of Transportation Reco Wright stated, “Having those extra bus drivers we’ve hired means we are going to be able to put them on routes that have been in need of a driver. Those kids won’t have to be all packed on the bus on double or triple routes.”
Receiving New Buses
Additionally, Laurens County was allocated four brand new buses—**two for District 55** and another two for **District 56**. Faye Colley, the District 55 Coordinator of Communication, expressed the district’s gratitude, saying, “We cannot ask for anything more. I know funds are always tight, so having these extra transportation modes is a blessing. We can show we prioritize the children here in Laurens County.”
Aiming for Less Stressful Days
With the routes now being spread out between drivers, the district hopes that the drivers themselves will feel **uplifted** and **less stressed** heading into the school year. This positive shift is expected to create a better working environment for drivers and provide safer, more reliable transportation for students.
This year marks a significant improvement in the transportation logistics for Laurens County School District 55, promising a smoother, happier ride for everyone involved.
Looking Forward
As students prepare to hit the books once again, they’ll be greeted with not only new friends and teachers but also improved **transportation options** that will get them to and from school safely and efficiently. Here’s to a fantastic school year ahead!
