This week marked the beginning of the 2024 Vermont high school fall sports season with exciting matches across various sports including soccer, field hockey, and volleyball. The competition has stirred up energy among teams and fans alike, and we’ve collected the latest scores and highlights.

In boys’ soccer, Vermont narrowly defeated Bryant with a score of 1-0. Player Pieter Bultman scored the only goal in the 30th minute, allowing the Catamounts to extend their unbeaten streak to an impressive 13 games. The team now stands at 8-1-4 overall and 3-0-1 in their league.

On a different note, South Burlington secured a convincing 3-0 win against Mount Anthony, with athlete Kyle Couture finding the net twice. Meanwhile, Fair Haven dominated Woodstock by scoring 6 goals while holding their opponents scoreless.

The field hockey matches also brought competitive spirits to the forefront. Lake Region edged out Lamoille with a close 1-0 victory, and Paine Mountain triumphed over Winooski by the same score. Additionally, the volleyball teams have been busy, with South Burlington ending its perfect regular season with a 14-0 record after a strong performance against Champlain Valley, winning 3-0.
