High School Sports Update: Soccer and Volleyball Scheduled Matches

This week in Western Pennsylvania, high school sports fans can look forward to an exciting lineup of soccer and volleyball matches. Monday, September 23, 2024, is filled with various games for both boys and girls as teams compete for dominance in their respective leagues.

Boys Soccer Matches

In boys soccer, the Class A Section 1 teams will see Neshannock face off against South Side at 5:30 p.m.. Other notable matchups include Albert Gallatin visiting Uniontown at 7:30 p.m. and Central Catholic taking on Peters Township also at 7:30 p.m..

In Section 2, Knoch will challenge North Hills at 7:30 p.m.. Freedom will travel to St. Joseph for an early match at 4 p.m. Additionally, under the Class A banner, fans can catch Eden Christian going head-to-head with South Side starting at 6 p.m..

Girls Soccer Matches

On the girls’ side, the Class 3A Section 1 games will feature Fox Chapel visiting Shaler at 7:30 p.m.. Gateway will also be in action, facing Penn Hills at the same time.

In Section 2, Moon heads to Chartiers Valley for their match at 7 p.m.. Meanwhile, Hampton will play against Obama Academy at 5 p.m., which provides an earlier option for fans. The girls’ matches promise to be competitive and engaging.

Volleyball Matches

Shifting gears to volleyball, the girls’ volleyball schedule includes Beth-Center visiting Bentworth at 6 p.m. and Brentwood facing Seton LaSalle at 7:15 p.m.. The excitement continues with Hampton challenging Montour at 7:30 p.m..

Additionally, Greensburg Salem plays against Laurel Highlands at 7:30 p.m., making for another thrilling event in the local sports scene.
