This week in the valley, high school sports provided plenty of excitement and memorable moments. Our talented team of photographers captured the action at several events, including water polo, volleyball, and football.

In an intense water polo match, the Saints showed their skills as they triumphed over Palm Desert with a score of 3-1. Team member Jilianna Loya made waves after serving an ace, which brought a big smile to her teammate Juliette Rothe’s face. This game demonstrated the teamwork and determination of the Saints, making it a memorable experience for both players and fans.

Friday night football was filled with nail-biting moments as Desert Hot Springs took on Yucca Valley. The Trojans surged ahead, winning 42-14. In one standout play, Desert Hot Springs’ Seth Silva fought off three Yucca Valley defenders, showcasing his resilience on the field. Fans cheered wildly as their team claimed a significant victory.

Another team celebrating this week was Twentynine Palms, who captured their first win of the season. The players joyfully posed for a team photo, embodying the excitement and relief of finally securing a victory against Desert Mirage. Their laughter encapsulated the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Meanwhile, La Quinta’s running back, James Madden Ruberg, made a stunning leap over a Vista del Lago defender during their game. This electrifying moment highlighted his agility and determination, further exciting the crowd as the game unfolded.
