News Summary

Georgia Tech welcomed offensive line recruit Tre Aiken from Clinton High School for an official visit, as he narrows his choices to five schools including Georgia Tech. Aiken, a three-star prospect, aims to find the right fit for his college football career. His visit highlighted Georgia Tech’s focus on building a strong recruiting class for the future. With notable achievements and ongoing communication with other schools, Aiken remains open-minded in his recruitment process, which could significantly impact the Yellow Jackets’ program.

Atlanta, Georgia – Over the weekend, Georgia Tech welcomed Tre Aiken, a highly sought-after offensive line recruit from Clinton High School in South Carolina, for an official visit. This visit comes as Aiken names Georgia Tech among his top five schools, which also include South Carolina, Florida, NC State, and Virginia Tech.

Aiken’s visit allowed him to bond with the Georgia Tech coaching staff and players, creating a strong connection ahead of what could be a pivotal decision in his recruitment process. The visit coincided with an impressive gathering of 2026 targets, indicating Georgia Tech’s focus on building a robust recruiting class.

On May 30th, 2023, Aiken announced his top five schools, coincidentally on his birthday, and narrowed them down from a considerable list of offers he had received. Georgia Tech made its offer to Aiken on January 15th, quickly establishing a solid rapport that has continued to strengthen throughout his recruitment.

Tre Aiken is currently rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals and On3. He has an On3 grade of 88, ranking him as the No. 35 interior offensive lineman in the country and the No. 8 player in South Carolina. Standing at 6 feet 4 inches and weighing 285 pounds, Aiken is noted for his remarkable agility for his size, which has made him a prized recruit.

During the previous season, Aiken played a critical role in leading Clinton High School to a state championship, finishing with an impressive 12-2 record. In that season, he recorded 80 knockdown blocks and achieved a grading of 92%, showcasing his skill set and potential to succeed at the collegiate level.

Aiken has remained in constant communication with the offensive line coach at South Carolina, Lonnie Teasley, as part of his ongoing recruitment. However, he has expressed a desire to keep an open mind regarding all his college options, indicating that he currently lacks a favorite among his finalists. He emphasizes the importance of feeling comfortable with both the coaches and players at the programs he is considering, as well as the quality of education they offer.

Georgia Tech continues its search for its first commitment in the 2026 recruiting class and appears invested in securing Aiken’s commitment given his impactful performance and potential. Previously, in the last recruiting cycle, Georgia Tech signed 24 high school players, earning a spot in the top 25 across all recruiting services.

The program has also been strategic about focusing on recruiting players from South Carolina, with a total of six players from the state already present on its roster. Alongside Aiken, Georgia Tech is also hosting fellow prospect Fletcher Turk for official visits during the same weekend, further highlighting its commitment to building a strong 2026 class.

As the recruitment process unfolds, Aiken’s decision will not only impact his future but could significantly influence the trajectory of Georgia Tech’s program as they aim to enhance their offensive line with top-tier talent.
