Atlanta, GA – The Georgia Tech coaching staff welcomed over 20 recruits from the class of 2026 for their first wave of summer official visits this past weekend. This initiative marks the beginning of an intensive recruiting period aimed at enhancing the football program through strategic talent acquisition.

Leading the visit was Tre Aiken, a three-star offensive tackle hailing from Clinton High School in Clinton, South Carolina. Aiken is 6-foot-3 and weighs 286 pounds, earning recognition as the 122nd offensive tackle and the 23rd overall player from South Carolina. Aiken relished his time at Georgia Tech, which he noted for both its education and the promising direction of the football program under Coach Key. He particularly admired the toughness and competitive spirit exhibited by the team’s players.

Georgia Tech is gearing up for the second week of a series of official visits, set to host another group of recruits. The upcoming defensive recruit segment will feature two committed defensive backs, highlighted by four-star cornerback Jaedyn Terry from Manchester. Terry is currently considering offers from Kentucky and Mississippi State in addition to Georgia Tech, showcasing the competitive nature of recruitment efforts.

Adding to the excitement of the visit, Traeviss Stephenson, a recently committed offensive lineman, is still garnering significant interest from top programs including Florida State University, Auburn, and the University of Georgia. Additionally, three-star prospect Ben Mubenga also made an appearance at Georgia Tech and expressed high regard for the program’s dedication to offensive line development, which, alongside the coaches’ evident passion, solidified his interest in the school as his top choice.

Mubenga is a prominent player from the Buford Wolves, an accomplished team in Georgia’s highly competitive high school football landscape. The Buford Wolves recently advanced to the semifinals in the 6A classification before being knocked out by Carrollton. Known for his impressive footwork and skill in both opening running lanes and providing solid pass protection, Mubenga’s abilities have drawn significant attention.

The Georgia Tech recruiting class of 2025 has already made its mark, with 23 signed high school seniors, including five listed in the ESPN 300 rankings. A notable highlight of this class is that 10 of the 23 signees are offensive and defensive linemen, and 16 recruits hail from Georgia, underscoring Georgia Tech’s focus on local talent. Nationally, the class has been ranked as high as No. 17 and is marked as No. 2 within the Atlantic Coast Conference, showcasing a strong showing on the recruiting landscape.

To illustrate the class’s potential, standout recruits such as Josh Petty and Tae Harris are recognized as significant signings, ranking No. 22 and No. 48, respectively. This recruiting cycle has been cited as the highest-ranked since 2007, a year that saw the addition of players who would later make their names known in the NFL.

As a part of their strategic enhancement plans, Georgia Tech is pursuing a $500 million fundraising initiative termed “Full Steam Ahead,” aimed at bolstering the school’s athletic program and facilities. This multifaceted approach underscores the commitment of Georgia Tech to strengthen its football program and ensure competitive success for years to come.

Overall, the influx of recruits and continued attention from elite programs highlights Georgia Tech’s robust efforts in securing promising talent. As the summer recruiting season unfolds, the initiatives taken by the coaching staff and the warm reception of recruits signal a positive trajectory for the future of Georgia Tech football.
