Clinton Police Investigate Homicide of Missing Woman MyAngel Walker; Two Arrested

Clinton, SC – The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the homicide of 18-year-old MyAngel Walker, whose body was discovered in a vehicle in Greenwood County. The death has captured the attention of local law enforcement and the community, as Walker was reported missing by her family on December 12, 2024.

Walker was last seen in Clinton shortly before her disappearance, and concerns escalated when she did not show up for work. The investigation intensified, bringing in multiple agencies, including the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), in order to gather information and locate Walker.

On December 13, 2024, Clinton police confirmed that Walker’s body was found near McKenzie Road in Greenwood County. The investigation led authorities to arrest 19-year-old Malachi Pressley, who has been charged with Walker’s murder, which is believed to have occurred on December 11, 2024, between 10 and 11 p.m. on Gary Street in Clinton. In addition to the murder charge, Pressley faces charges for possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Another suspect, also 19 years old, identified as Taylor Kinard, has been arrested as an accessory after the fact. Authorities allege that she assisted Pressley in disposing of Walker’s body. Both Pressley and Kinard were denied bond during a hearing scheduled for December 14, 2024.

As of now, the motive for the murder and the nature of the relationship between Pressley and Walker have not been disclosed by law enforcement. Walker was recently a high school graduate with aspirations of becoming a nurse, leaving her family and friends in grief over the tragedy.

Local authorities have expressed their condolences to the Walker family, highlighting the weight of the incident on the community. They are urging anyone with information relevant to the case to come forward and contact the Clinton Police Department or Crime Stoppers.

This case continues to develop, and updates are expected as the investigation proceeds. The community remains on alert as law enforcement works diligently to piece together the circumstances surrounding Walker’s death.

The significance of this incident has resonated beyond the immediate community, prompting discussions about safety and support for families dealing with similar tragedies. As investigators work to uncover the truth, there is a collective hope for justice in this heartbreaking situation.
