Bloomington High School Sports Update
This week in Bloomington, high school sports continued to bring excitement on the court and mat. Here’s a look at the latest results from local teams.
Girls Basketball
The Bloomington South Panthers dominated Terre Haute North with a score of 70-24. The Panthers improved their record to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in Conference Indiana. They took control early with a powerful first half, leading 40-12 at halftime. Their balanced scoring helped secure an easy win.
Meanwhile, Bloomington North won impressively against Columbus East, finishing the game at 71-44. This victory marked the Cougars’ fifth win of the season, bringing their record to 5-2. Leading the team was Lulu Frank with 13 points, supported by Ava Robbennolt and Kate Lehr, who each scored 12 points.
Boy’s Basketball
The Owen Valley Patriots faced a tough challenge against West Vigo, losing the game 49-44. The Patriots had a narrow lead at halftime but couldn’t hold off the Vikings in the second half, which dropped their record to 0-2.
Girls Basketball Results
In other girls basketball action, Eastern Greene scored their first victory of the season by defeating Dugger Union 58-37. Lydia Pfaff was key to their success, hitting five three-pointers throughout the game.
Wrestling
Wrestling also heated up this week, with Terre Haute South beating Edgewood 61-18 in boys wrestling, while the girls team from Terre Haute South also claimed victory against Edgewood 36-24.
Swimming
On the pool front, Bloomington North triumphed over East Central with a score of 101-69 in boys swimming. Notable performances came from Jay Stewart and Landon Mobley, each securing first-place finishes in their events.
