In Westport, the Staples High School boys’ soccer team dominated Danbury, scoring 11 goals while allowing just 1 in return. This impressive victory solidifies Staples’ strong season performance.

Meanwhile, in New Haven, the Hopkins School faced off against Hamden Hall, registering a solid 6-0 win. The standout players included Munib Kassem and Eric Roberts, each netting two goals. The win improved Hopkins’ record to 5-1.

Northwest Catholic secured a decisive 1-0 victory against Avon with Samantha Casper scoring the only goal. Northwest Catholic’s goalkeeper, Abby Casper, helped maintain the lead with two saves.

The Seymour boys’ soccer team also had a great outing, winning 3-0 against Oxford thanks to two goals from Joey Carrafiello.

In girls’ soccer, the Mercy High School team proved their prowess with a 4-2 victory over Cheshire. Molly Benson scored twice, leading her team to stay undefeated with a record of 13-0-1.

In volleyball action, Hamden battled Killingly, coming out on top with a score of 3-1. Bella Green was particularly effective with nine kills and eight digs, while Mady Rollinson assisted the team with an impressive 36 assists.

Overall, Friday was a notable day for several local teams, showcasing impressive teamwork and skill on the field and court. As the seasons progress, fans eagerly await more thrilling contests and standout performances.
