Fall Sports Season Kicks Off in Vermont

As the leaves begin to turn, the 2024 fall sports season has officially started in Vermont, with several exciting matches already taking place across various high school sports, including soccer, field hockey, volleyball, golf, and cross-country running.

In soccer, the Burlington team had an impressive performance against St. Johnsbury, winning 8-2. Key players included Quinn Sessions, who scored 2 goals and made 1 assist, and Kade Ladner, who also netted 2 goals and contributed 1 assist. The team’s solid play was highlighted by a goal from St. Johnsbury that came as an own goal.

Mount Abraham also showed strength on the field, winning against Fair Haven with a score of 2-0. Louisa Painter and Isla Underwood scored early in the match, securing a lead within the first few minutes. Hazel Stoddard made 3 saves to help maintain the shutout.

In the world of field hockey, Windsor claimed a close victory over Fair Haven with a score of 1-0. Olivia Dube‘s goal, along with Audrey McFarland‘s assist, was enough to seal the deal, while Tatum Flanigan recorded one save for Windsor.

Golf has also seen some great performances. At West Bolton, Namo Seibert from Mount Mansfield took home the medalist honors with an impressive score of 36. The Essex team’s Sarah Krauss shot 52, contributing to their team score of 110.
