LCSO School Supply Drive Scheduled for Friday
Laurens, with the start of the new school year approaching, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is rallying the community for a noble cause. Their annual “Fill the Cruiser” school supply drive is scheduled for Friday at the local Chick-Fil-A outlet in Laurens. The drive will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., accepting both monetary and supply donations targeted at assisting county students in need.
Critical Supplies Needed for Students
The drive is focused on gathering essential educational supplies required by students. Items listed as necessary include clear and regular book bags, notebooks, pencils and erasers, packs of paper, pencil sharpeners, folders, binders, graph paper, glue, highlighters/markers, crayons, colored pencils and pens.
While the Friday event is specifically for collections, the LCSO announced that donations can continue to be made until July 26 at the LCSO offices located on West Main Street in Laurens. This extended timeframe offers community members who are unable to participate in the Friday event an opportunity to contribute to this humanitarian initiative.
Back to School Bash: A Celebration of Learning
In line with their commitment to serving the community, the LCSO is staging its Back to School Bash on Saturday, July 27, spanning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Laurens County Judicial Complex, 100 Hillcrest Drive. This event promises an exciting mix of fun and essentials for the community, along with the school supply giveaway.
Brimming with activities and features such as bounce houses and Tiny Trotters therapy horses, the bash will also provide sustenance in the form of ice cream and pizza. A thoughtful inclusion is that of clothing closets, facilitated by The First Church and Queen Bees, ensuring that deserving students have access to good-quality clothes to kickstart their new academic year.
Take Part in Supporting Education
Community participation is crucial in ensuring the success of these initiatives. Those looking for additional information or wishing to contribute to these endeavors can reach out directly to the LCSO at 864-681-4509. Let’s join hands in boosting the morale of our students and renewing their enthusiasm for learning as we march together towards a brighter, more prosperous future for Laurens.
