Clinton, South Carolina – An 18-year-old woman, MyAngel Walker, was found dead after a suspicious disappearance that led to the arrest of two individuals. Walker was reported missing by her family on Thursday when she failed to show up for work, prompting concerns and a joint investigation by Laurens and Clinton Police Departments. The investigation grew more urgent, leading authorities to treat Walker’s case as a potential homicide rather than merely a missing persons case.

Walker was last seen in the city of Clinton on December 11, and her body was discovered in a vehicle near McKenzie Road in Greenwood County. As law enforcement agencies extended their search for answers, they moved their inquiry into Newberry and Greenwood counties, indicating the seriousness of the situation. The discovery of Walker’s body confirmed suspicions that her disappearance was linked to a criminal act.

Malachi Pressley, a 19-year-old man, has been arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Authorities allege that Pressley shot Walker on the evening of December 11. Another 19-year-old, Taylor Kinard, was also arrested and charged as an accessory after the fact, for allegedly assisting Pressley in disposing of Walker’s body.

Both suspects were denied bond during their initial hearing on Saturday morning, signifying the severity of the charges against them. Walker’s mother shared that Pressley was in an on-and-off relationship with her daughter, highlighting the complexities often found in domestic situations.

The investigation remains active, with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division assisting local police. Authorities continue to conduct interviews and gather evidence as they seek justice for Walker. Community members have been encouraged to reach out to the Clinton Police Department at 864-833-7512 or contact Crime Stoppers at 68-Crime with any information that may help in the ongoing investigation.

Police officials, including Laurens Police Chief Heath Copeland and Clinton Police Chief Michael Addison, expressed their condolences to Walker’s family and friends. Walker was remembered as a bright young lady with aspirations of becoming a nurse; she had only recently graduated from high school earlier this year.

In light of this tragic case, Walker’s mother emphasized the importance of safety for those facing domestic disputes or abuse, urging individuals to seek help and escape from perilous situations if possible. The response from law enforcement and the community underscores a collective resolve to address violence and support those affected by it.

This case serves as a grim reminder of the potential dangers young individuals can face, especially in tumultuous relationships. As the investigation continues, the community remains vigilant in sharing any information that might lead to further developments in this heart-wrenching case.
