Excitement Builds in Billings as High School Football Teams Prep for Championship Weekend

High School Sports Update from Montana

As the 2024 fall high school sports season continues, exciting developments are happening across Montana. This past weekend was filled with thrilling action as teams competed in the semifinals of the football playoffs and showcased their talents in volleyball.

In football, teams fought hard for a spot in the championship game. The Glacier Rams defeated the Gallatin team with a score of 47-26 at Van Winkle Stadium. Glacier head coach, Grady Bennett, praised his quarterback Jackson Presley for his outstanding performance during the game: “He showed who he is and what he is tonight in a big-time way.” The Rams will now face their long-time rival, Laurel, for the State A title next weekend at Herb Klindt Field.

Meanwhile, the Circle team celebrated its third state championship victory after a successful season. And the Belt Huskies are back in the 8-man state championship game after finishing their season undefeated. After coming up short last year against Fairview, this is a big chance for them to claim the title.

The Montana high school volleyball tournaments are also in full swing this weekend in Bozeman, where the Class AA, A, B, and C champions will be crowned. This event runs from November 14 to 16 and has drawn significant attention as teams strive for glory. Helena High’s coach, Lindsey Day, expressed her gratitude for coaching the Heuiser sisters, highlighting the close-knit community of athletes.

With the championship games approaching, excitement is growing all around Montana. Schools, students, and families are buzzing as they gear up to support their teams in these crucial matchups. The countdown is on for the finals!
