# Scots & Brats Returns to the Lumberyard in Clinton Saturday

CLINTON, S.C. — The city of Clinton is bringing back Scots & Brats on Saturday, Nov. 7, a fall party that blends a German-style Oktoberfest with a Scottish theme and draws in students from Presbyterian College.

The festival has been a fall fixture in town since 2018. This is the second straight year it will be staged at The Lumberyard, where food trucks will park alongside the venue menu.

Four acts are booked. The Foothills Oompah Band opens the music, with sets from Dixie Barnes and Granger Smith before the Steubenville Tootlers close the night. Between sets, guests can try Scottish-themed lawn games, including a contest to see who can hold a beer stein the longest.

The festival listing bills it as a Scotoberfest, with games that cost nothing to play, beer on hand and a bit of friendly rivalry, and it nudges visitors to show up in kilts. The City of Clinton is the organizer, and the listing jokes that the menu includes schnitzel and giggles.

City organizers say the night is meant to bring longtime residents and college students together, a nod to the Blue Hose pride that runs through the town. More details will be posted on the city Facebook page as the date nears.
