CLINTON, S.C. — Presbyterian College lost at home for the first time in 741 days on Saturday, as Butler held the ball for more than 40 minutes and left Bailey Memorial Stadium in Clinton, S.C., with a 27-10 win on Halloween homecoming.

The loss snapped an 11-game home winning streak, a program record and the third-longest active home run in the FCS. The Blue Hose dropped to 4-5 overall and 3-3 in Pioneer Football League play, while Butler improved to 7-2 and 4-1.

Butler scored two touchdowns in the first eight minutes and led 17-3 at halftime. Presbyterian got its points from a 28-yard field goal by freshman Kade Bailey and a fake punt late in the third quarter, when punter Noah Perrin found freshman Eric Nelson for a 66-yard touchdown.

The defense kept the Blue Hose close after the early deficit. Junior safety Ryan Largin made a career-high 17 tackles, and with about 10 minutes left, freshman lineman Levi Hoss got a hand on a Butler kick from 38 yards to keep it a two-score game. The offense managed just eight full drives, a season low, against the top run defense in the FCS.

Presbyterian has an open date next weekend, then plays at Morehead State on Nov. 14.
