CLINTON, S.C. — Clinton residents who want to vote before Election Day have one place to do it this year. Laurens County is running all of its in-person early voting out of a single site, the county’s voter registration and elections office in Laurens, found at Suite B of 105 Bolt Drive.

The two-week window opened Monday, Oct. 19, for the Nov. 3 general election. Doors open at 8:30 each morning and close at 6 in the evening, Monday through Saturday, until Oct. 31. The office will not open Sunday, Oct. 25, since state law bars Sunday voting.

Any registered voter in the county can use the Bolt Drive office no matter which precinct they normally use, and no excuse is needed. On Election Day the rules change, and voters must go to their assigned precinct, where polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Bring a photo ID. A state driver license, a DMV identification card or a voter registration card with a photo all work.

The ballot is a busy one. Voters will pick a governor, an attorney general, an agriculture commissioner and a comptroller general, and they will settle a U.S. Senate race between Republican Sen. Darline Graham and Democrat Annie Andrews. U.S. House, state House and several county offices are also on the ballot.

Absentee-by-mail ballots can be requested until Friday, Oct. 23. Sample ballots are posted at scVOTES.gov.
