CLINTON, S.C. — Radford needed only three sets to beat Presbyterian College volleyball in Clinton on Friday night, winning 25-21 and then 25-18 twice in the first October home match for the Blue Hose.

The Blue Hose started well. They led 17-12 in the opening set before the Highlanders reeled off eight points in a row to pull ahead 20-17, then took the last three points to close it out. Presbyterian grabbed a brief 6-4 edge early in the second set, but Radford never trailed after that.

The third set was the closest. Presbyterian led 9-7 and later pulled within 16-15, only to watch Radford finish on a 9-2 run.

Brittney Daphnis paced Presbyterian at the net, finishing with seven kills to go with a team-best four blocks. Anisa Dorlouis set up 26 assists and chipped in six kills, and Amaris Alvarez posted a season-best 14 digs. Ashley Miller returned to the lineup after missing every match since Sept. 12.

For Radford, freshman Macie Potter put down a match-high 13 kills on .478 hitting, and Mia Jannazzo served four aces to go with 12 digs. It was the first conference sweep of the season for the Highlanders, who have won eight of their last 10.

Presbyterian, now 8-12 and 2-4 in the Big South, closes the homestand against High Point on Saturday at 2 p.m.
