CLINTON, S.C. — Krystal Haddock, a junior guard for the Presbyterian College women’s basketball team in Clinton, opens the 2026-27 season with a spot on the Big South Conference preseason all-league second team, the conference announced Wednesday, Oct. 14.

Haddock tied with High Point forward Juliann Woodard for the final place on the second team. The league singled her out as one of its top rebounders a year ago. No Blue Hose player had earned a preseason all-conference nod since Bryanna Brady and Tilda Sjökvist were picked ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Her first year in Clinton came in 2025-26, and the boards were her calling card. She pulled down 5.6 rebounds per game to lead Presbyterian, which ranked 14th in the Big South. She reached double-digit rebounds in four games and finished with three double-doubles. Against Charleston Southern on Jan. 23, 2026, she grabbed 12 offensive rebounds, setting a program record.

Haddock also reached double figures in scoring 11 times, with her best night an 18-point game at Longwood. She started 25 games, more than any teammate, and logged the second-most minutes on the roster.

The coaches who voted in the preseason poll are less bullish on the team as a whole. Presbyterian was picked eighth of nine schools with 18 points, ahead of only Charleston Southern. High Point and Radford tied for first at 75 points apiece, and Radford forward Georgia Simonsen was the unanimous choice for preseason player of the year.

College basketball tips off Monday, Nov. 2. Big South play begins Wednesday, Dec. 30, with each team playing 16 league games before the league tournament, set for Johnson City, Tennessee, and its Freedom Hall Civic Center from March 3 to 7, 2027.
